We are very sad to have to announce that Mark Leach passed away on Friday 4th July 2008. He will be very much missed by all of us at the gallery who had come to regard him as a friend as well as much respected colleague. He leaves a wife and children.
A selection of Mark's work is constantly held by the gallery some of which is shown here. A few of the pieces are featured in his new book 'Raw Colour with Pastels'. This publication is proving very popular having now been translated into Italian and is also available from several outlets including the shop at Tate Modern. Mark was newly elected President of the Pastel Society .
Mark recently gained yet more awards for his work. At the Pastel Society 2007 annual show he was made winner of the CROSS GATE GALLERY of KENTUCKY AWARD. The Cross Gate Gallery is one of the most respected fine art galleries in America. At the 2008 Pastel Society annual show he gained the Orange Street Gallery award.
