Born Prague, Czechoslovakia. Jitka qualified as a doctor of medicine in 1984 and has since taught anatomy in Moravia. Her work is narrative, based around stories and themes and tries to create a strong tension between the outside and inside surface, in order to give the whole piece another dimension.
Jitka's earthenware vessels and plates are painted with coloured slips, oxides and stains whilst still wet and then glazed.
Jitka's work is in many collections including the Musee National de Ceramique de Sevres, Paris.
